Avlaki beach is located between the villages Agios Stefanos and Kassiopi in the Northeast part of Corfu. Its a very nice, quiet beach with crystal clear water. Ideal destination for families and romantic people. The beach has sun beds, few tavernas with delicious local food. Boats are available for hire or you can use the offer of the captains of the small cruise boats to take you to the nearby bays. There are more than 10 small beaches around as Avlaki is one of all from the part calls “Erimitis”. From Avlaki begins a lovely path with signs in all the Peninsula of Erimitis which leads to entirely secluded, idyllic beaches and to three lakes of the region, significant wetlands, Savoura, at a close distance, Vromolimni and Akoli. The position of Erimitis, right across the Albanian shores, exactly in the northern strait of the island, prevented any development or activity in the region which was used by the Venetians for defensive reasons. In order to eliminate hazards to ships passing through the strait, during the English occupation, in the islet Kapareli a lighthouse of a height of 9 meters was built, the second oldest of Corfu. The oldest lighthouse is the one of the Old Fortress.
